Young NI men find jobs thanks to McDonald's partnership with employment service Triangle
Two young Northern Ireland men have said they would still be unemployed had it not been for a leading restaurant chain's partnership with a special job-skills service.
Joe McKeown and James Taggart were struggling to find work when they came across Triangle's Progression to Employment, which partners with McDonald's UK and Ireland in Northern Ireland.
The partnership with Triangle is part of McDonald's Makin' It programme. Designed to unlock new opportunities for young people across the UK and Ireland, Makin' It creates safer spaces in restaurants and communities via youth work and funds programmes that offer young people the chance to thrive, develop essential skills, and become active members of society.
Through Triangle, young people aged 16-24 can sign up for a three-day Accelerate into Employment Academy to develop the knowledge and skills required and to be fuaranteed an interview. To date, McDonald's has hired 35 people via Triangle.
